The DQP stands for Degree Qualifications Profile which describes to college graduates different things such as knowledge, skills, and other ways for the graduates to succeed. Educators have worked for a long time to decide what was important for college graduates to know, and what they would need to succeed. The DQP has five essential areas of learning that can be applied to an associate degree, bachelor’s degree, or master degree.               The five essential areas of learning are specialized knowledge, broad and integrative knowledge, Intellectual skills, applied and collaborative skills, and civic and global learning. The DQP is important because it describes what college graduates will need to know to be able to be successful in life.
